Common Impact Data Standard Core Classes

We offer both introductory and intensive training options to familiarize you and your team with the Common Impact Data Standard (CIDS). The content and structure may be tailored to your requirements. Typical training programs include the following:

Introduction to Ontologies

In this session, you will learn about the fundamentals of knowledge represenation for semantic interoperability. We will introduce the Semantic Web, its supported modelling languages, and the key technologies involved in implementation. An interactive session on possible applications in your organization may also be included. This session will last about 2-3 hours.

Introduction to impact models and the Common Impact Data Standard

In this session, you will learn what the Common Impact Data Standard is, how it represents existing impact models, and how the standard can be applied to your organization. A high-level overview of the entire standard is provided with specific examples. This session will last about 1.5 hours.

Modelling Theories of Change with the Common Impact Data Standard

In this session, you will learn how to model your theory of change using Common Impact Data Standard. Three theories of change and their implementation in the standard will be presented. We will finish by demonstrating how to represent your organization's impact model using the standard. This session will last about 1.5 hours.

The Common Impact Data Standard Ontology (Software developers)

In this intensive full day session, you will will gain a detailed understanding of the Common Impact Data Standard. We will cover all core patterns specified in the standard, and facilitate interactive activities focusing on applications to improve your grasp of the concepts. This session will last a full day (about 6 hours).
